Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas everyone from the REACT team.
The trial is now complete!
A big Thank you to everybody that took part. We look forward to letting you know the results of the trial. Keep checking for details.
Trial Update
We have recruited a total of 103 participants for the study. Currently 71 participants have completed the trial with the final participants due to finish in October 2011. Following this there will be a period of data analysis and write up; we hope to publish a paper with the final results in the new year.
Multicultural Adaptation
We have recently started a one year study to investigate how we need to adapt REACT for British ethnic groups. This has arisen due to the interest in REACT expressed by members of the South Asian community coupled with the recognition that the toolkit was written for a very Western population. This study consists of a systematic review of the literature to find out what is already known about cultural adaptations for psychological interventions plus a series of interviews with relatives from South Asian communities do get their views and ideas. Hopefully this will enable us to develop a culturally appropriate version of REACT to offer people and will inform future cultural adaptations.
REACT Study Protocol Published Online
The Protocol paper for the REACT trial has recently been published on the BioMed Central website. The paper explains what the aims of the study are, why it is being conducted, and what the results of the trial will be used for.
The paper also describes in detail the procedure for the trial including how participants were recruited and randomised, which outcome measures are being used, how the data is being collected, how the REACT toolkit was developed, the main features of the toolkit, and how the data is going to be analysed.
