Cultural Adaptation of the REACT toolkit
Culturally adapted REACT (CaREACT) is an extension of an established REACT trial. CaREACT aims to explore and identify cultural issues and barriers that south Asian relatives encounter whilst taking care of someone with psychosis. The culturally adapted toolkit will provide key information and culturally sensitive guidance for south Asian relatives in managing the difficulties that arise when a friend or family member experiences psychosis. CaREACT has been approved by the ethics committee. Resources are being identified to recruit relatives and key community members of south Asian community for the focus groups.

We have recruited a total of 103 participants for the study. Currently 71 participants have completed the trial with the final participants due to finish in October 2011. Following this there will be a period of data analysis and write up; we hope to publish a paper with the final results in the new year.
